Your first glimpse of St. Simons Island is across the celebrated Marshes of Glynn, made famous by Poet Sidney Lanier.
Called "the nursery of the sea," these natural treasures are the birthplace of much of our sea life.

Christ Church is the second oldest Episcopal church in Georgia and the third oldest in the country.
In the 1740's Reverends John and Charles Wesley accompanied Gen. Oglethorpe to Georgia as Anglican priests and in 1820 the first Christ
Church was built. The churchyard grounds are spectacular, especially in the springtime. The cemetery is the resting place
of many of the Island's earliest and most notable residents. |
